Background
Cameroon, a multilingual country with over 280 national languages having French and English as the most predominant (Taboh et al., 2024.), has taken certain governmental measures over the years such as; the National Bilingualism Day and other scholastic curricula (Bilingual specialties) in secondary schools, all aimed at fostering nation-building through a multilingual youthful population.
Objectives
As an act of support for this national objective, the Denis and Lenora Foretia Foundation, a Cameroonian not-for-profit organization aiming at Catalyzing Africa’s Economic Transformation, wishes to organize a one-month intensive spoken language lesson for an upgrade to beginners and intermediate levels (A1 and B1) in both English and French languages.
Expected Outcomes
We expect to have these 40 learners sound more confident in spoken English or French, paving the way for better social insertion of the youths.
Target Audience
The training targets the youthful population between the ages of 10 to 18 years with a less than A1 level in either French or English and desiring an upgrade. The program envisages;
