The Foundation does not accept proposals for outside projects.
The Foretia Foundation is not a grant-making organization, and does not distribute grants, scholarships, or funding for outside projects.
The Foretia Foundation generally does not make grants to outside organizations; rather, we direct our financial resources to the implementation of our own initiatives and programs on the ground.
The Denis & Lenora Foretia Foundation was established to catalyze Africa’s economic transformation by focusing on social entrepreneurship, science and technology, innovation, public health and progressive policies to create economic opportunities for all. The foundation works in partnership with local governments, policy makers, private enterprises, civil society organizations as well as development partners to expand the resources available to entrepreneurs, farmers, and small business owners in addition to improving individual livelihoods.
There is an expanding internship program at the Foundation. The internship program follows the semester system at Cameroonian universities. The Fall semester runs from October to February while the Spring semester runs from April to July. The summer internship runs from July to September. Interns are expected to spend at least 20 hours per week during the fall and spring semesters. During the summer session, interns are expected to spend at least 35 hours a week at the foundation. The internship program at the foundation is an incredible opportunity for young students and professionals to participate in shaping the future of their country and continent. In 2012, 11% of Foretia Foundation expenses supported management and administrative expenses.
By making an unrestricted gift to the Foretia Foundation, your gift will go where the need is greatest. The Foretia Foundation staff and volunteers are making a difference by finding real and tangible solutions throughout the Cameroon and Central Africa.
Yes. You can designate your gift to a specific Foretia Foundation initiative by choosing the program in the Donation Information section under the Designation drop-down menu. If you are making a donation by mail, you can check the appropriate box on the Gift Designation section of the donation form.
Yes. You will receive a receipt by mail for every contribution you make to the Foretia Foundation, whether you donate by mail or online. This receipt can be used when filing your income taxes.
All gifts to the Foundation are tax deductible, as applicable by law. The Foretia Foundation is classified by the Internal Revenue Service as a 501(c)(3) organization.
