The final edition of a series of 6 trainings organized in Yaounde and Douala has ended successfully ended in Douala Friday. Cameroon-Dschang: Gov’t urged to release political prisoners as step to solve Anglophone crisis
Participants at the forum in Dschang The release of political prisoners in Cameroon is a step in the right direction to help solve the crisis in the North West and South West regions of the country, a group of youths and civil society actors have proposed. Community Involvement In Promoting Peace in Cameroon – Douala
The first conflict tackled by participants is the Boko Haram Crisis in the far North region of #Cameroon. Amongst other things suggested by participants is that the creation of vigilante groups should be encouraged and the local councils in this area be supported. Cardinal Tumi receives Nelson Mandela Award
Archbishop Emeritus of Douala, Christian Cardinal Tumi has been awarded this year’s edition of the Nelson Mandela Memorial prize for his role in promoting peace and human rights in Cameroon. He saw off competition from Achaleke Christian and Edith Kah Walla to grab the award organised every year by the Denis and Lenora Foretia Foundation to celebrate the life of Nelson Mandela and his fight for justice in the society.
