Dr Alfonce Tata Nfor is a chartered manager and member of the Chartered Management Institute of England with over 18 years of professional experience in the domains of banking, microfinance, project and program management, public-private partnerships (PPPs), SMEs development, employment creation, skills development and TVET, teaching and research, humanitarian affairs and economic diplomacy amongst others.

He currently serves as Country Director of Street Child UK (a British INGO present in 26 countries in Africa, the Middle East, Latin America and Asia with representative offices in Europe, Canada and the USA). Prior to being promoted to his current position, he had served first as Senior Country Manager and then Country Representative. He is a senior consultant at the Pan-African University Institute for Governance, Humanities and Social Sciences (PAUGHSS) and Senior Private Sector Engagement Expert with Steadman Global Uganda. He is also a lecturer at the Pan-African Institute for Development West Africa (PAID-WA). He held the many positions at the German International Cooperation (GIZ) where he served until August 2022 when he resigned

He also served as Senior Economic Advisor to the British High Commissioner, Head of United Kingdom Trade and Investment (UKTI) and Member of the Borad of Directors of the embassy where he piloted the UK government’s economic agenda for Cameroon, Chad, the Central African Republic and Equatorial Guinea.

Between 2016 and 2017, he lectured management, marketing and banking courses both at the CITEC Higher Institute of Technology and Management as well as at the ICT University. He was Manager in-charge of the South West region and Deputy Manager for Yaounde MCY at Advans Cameroun S.A. Earlier in his career, he was Senior Regional Projects and Field Inspector at the Cameroon Cooperative Credit Union League (CamCCUL) where he was in-charge of the control and supervision of 32 credit unions in the Centre, South and East regions of Cameroon. He also served as Administrative Services Officer for CamCCUL Yaounde.

He holds a doctorate degree with a bias in International Cooperation and Development from the SMC Business School in Switzerland and Malta, an MBA in Strategic Management from the University of Wales, a Postgraduate Diploma in Business and Management from the London School of Commerce and a degree in History and Political Sciences from the University of Buea. He has attended over 80 courses, workshops and conferences in the UK, Turkey, South Africa, Senegal, Togo, Switzerland, Belgium, France, Gabon, Ethiopia, Mozambique, Ghana, Nigeria, Germany, Kenya and Cameroon on themes linked to finance, strategy, project management, TVET, youth employment and job creation, economic diplomacy, humanitarian affairs, etc.

He was Technical Adviser to the Board of Directors of Start-Up N’kap Innovative Microfinance, a mentor of the Okwelians Fellowship for Young Cameroonians Leaders and Member of the Sponsorship Committee of the OHADA Club of Cameroon. He has also been a keynote speaker at several high-level events such as the launch of the UNDP Accelerator Lab, GICAM CDPME Meetup, The GIZ-SIFA Job Fair, the Employers’ Annual Conference in Mombasa, Kenya, the Cameroon Entrepreneurship Crusade, The Think Do Tank, etc.

He was very active in his academic life in his primary, secondary school and university days and occupied the following functions: Senior Sanitation Prefect, President of the Linguistic Club, Vice President ofthe Press Club, Secretary General of the University of Buea Association for the Promotion of Non-Violence (UBAPNOV), Advisor to the Faculty of Arts Students Association, Member of the UBSU Parliament, Public Relations Officer and Spokespersonof the G.H.S Limbe Ex-Students’ Association UB branch, Patrol Leader and Troop Leader of the Limbe I Boys Scout Movement, Presenter of Holiday Radio at the Ocean City radio (OCR) Limbe, etc.

He is a fanatic of youth development and has supervised over 30 end of course research projects of students at the Higher National Diploma (HND), first and master’s degree levels. He spends his spare time reading, travelling, mentoring young people, volunteering and watching economic and political documentaries.
