Dr. Louis Paul ONGONO is a Political Analyst within the Governance and Democracy programme at the Nkafu Policy Institute. He holds a PhD in political science — his doctoral thesis focusing on a sociological analysis of changes in the African international system through a study of the reform of the African Union.

An expert in conflict analysis in Africa, which was the central theme of his Master’s thesis, he completed training in post-conflict reconstruction and development in 2025 at the African Union Centre for PCRD in Cairo, Egypt.

His career combines international experience, gained notably at the Department of Political Affairs, Peace and Security (PAPS) of the African Union Commission, with field research expertise acquired at the African Institute for Development Policy (AFIDEP) while collecting data on governance integrity indicators.

Dr. Ongono also teaches at several academic institutions, notably the Faculty of Law and Political Science at the Catholic University of Central Africa (UCAC) and the Multinational University of Ambam (UMA). He has authored numerous academic articles on African multilateralism, charisma in diplomatic practice, and institutional changes within international organizations.
