DESCRIPTION:NOTE CONCEPTUELLE Contexte \nLe Cameroun à la croisée des chemins de son histoire ? Pendant des décennies\, alors que de nombreux autres pays africains étaient en proie à des conflits\, le Cameroun était admiré par beaucoup comme un pays pacifique et stable. Seulement\, de récents événements ont tôt fait d’éroder cette image alors que le pays est actuellement confronté à une série de défis. C’est dans cette optique que nous nous sommes engagés dans une approche contemporaine\, à encourager une plus grande participation des citoyens à la promotion de la paix dans leurs communautés et à la recherche de solutions aux problèmes communs.\nObjectif de l’évènement\nL’objectif de cet événement est de proposer des solutions citoyennes au travers desquelles le Cameroun peut accélérer son progrès vers la résolution des conflits actuels. Cet événement s’inscrit dans les missions du Nkafu Policy Institute\, un groupe de réflexion (Centre de recherche) de la Fondation Denis et Lenora FORETIA\, qui a pour but de proposer des recommandations politiques indépendantes\, approfondies et perspicaces pouvant faire progresser l’économie Camerounaise et celle d’autres pays d’Afrique subsaharienne.\nPublic cible\nCet événement vise à réunir 80 participants des secteurs public\, privé et de la société civile\, y compris des journalistes\, des chercheurs\, des personnes déplacées\, des autorités traditionnelles et des étudiants qui ont le potentiel de proposer des solutions de bon sens aux crises actuelles au Cameroun.\nFrais de participation ?\nPas de frais d’inscription\, Pas de per diem\nAxes d’intervention\nAu cours de l’événement\, il y aura des présentations sur des faits majeurs concernant les crises actuelles au Cameroun. L’événement consistera en une discussion ouverte de 90 minutes. SUMMARY:The Quest for Citizens Participation in Promoting Peace in Cameroon – Dschang
DESCRIPTION:CONCEPT NOTEBackground  \nCameroon at crossroads in its history? For decades now\, while many other African countries have been engulfed in conflicts\, Cameroon had been admired by many as a peace loving and stable country. But it would appear events in recent times are fast eroding that notion as the country is being confronted with a series of challenges. It is in this light that we are embarking on contemporary approach trying to encourage greater participation of the citizens in promoting peace in their community and in finding solutions to their common problems.\nObjective of the event\nThe objective of this event is to propose citizen solutions through which Cameroon can accelerate its progress towards the resolution of current conflicts. This event is in line with the mission of the Nkafu Policy Institute\, a think tank (research center) of the Denis and Lenora Foretia Foundation\, whose mission is to provide independent\, in-depth and insightful policy recommendations that advance the Cameroonian economy and the economies of other sub-Saharan African countries.\nTarget audience\nThis event aims to bring together 80 participants from the public\, private and civil society sectors\, including journalists\, researchers\, displaced persons\, traditional authorities\, and students who have the potential to propose common sense solutions to the current crises in Cameroon.\nParticipation fees?\nThere will be no registration fees or per diem.\nAreas of focus of the debate\nDuring the event\, there will be presentations on major facts about the current crises in Cameroon.
