DESCRIPTION:Theme: From research to action: Tackling inequality and informality to achieve inclusive growth in Central Africa?\nSession 1 – May 13\, 2026\nTime: 2:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. (GMT+1)\nVenue: Zoom Online (Register now) \n1. Background \nCentral Africa still faces persistent development challenges\, including rising socioeconomic inequalities\, a large informal economy\, weak institutions\, and vulnerability to external shocks. Despite its significant potential\, the region struggles to translate its strengths into inclusive and sustainable growth. \nIn this context\, the Nkafu Policy Institute\, in collaboration with five partner think tanks\, conducted comparative research in six countries of the region\, producing: \n\nSix Country Reports (Burundi\, Congo\, Rwanda – EPRN\, Rwanda – IPAR\, Cameroon\, Chad)\nA Flagship Report on Central Africa\n\nIn order to ensure widespread dissemination of the results\, strengthen understanding of the observed dynamics and facilitate the intake of policy recommendations\, the Denis & Lenora Foretia Foundation will organize a series of dissemination webinars\, structured in three sessions. \n2. Overall objective of the series\nCreate a continental space for dialogue\, knowledge transfer and engagement between researchers\, policymakers\, civil society\, international partners and media around the structural challenges related to informality\, inequality and governance in Central Africa. \n3. Specific objectives\n\nTo present the main results from country studies in a progressive and accessible manner.\nTo enable critical exchange between partner think tanks\, public decision-makers and development actors.\nTo identify the obstacles to the implementation of the proposed reforms.\nTo strengthen the use of empirical evidence in decision-making processes.\nTo promote the flagship regional report and encourage consolidated thinking across Central Africa.\n\n4.
