The Foretia Scholars Program offers the most personalized, generous scholarship and educational support to exceptionally promising and talented students from families across Cameroon and the Central Africa who come from very economically disadvantaged backgrounds. Scholars receive comprehensive educational advising and financial support to pursue their unique academic and talent goals. The application period is open from December to April. Up to 5 Young Scholars will be selected for this program each year.

Foundation’s Mission

The Denis & Lenora Foretia Foundation was established to catalyze Africa’s economic transformation by focusing on social entrepreneurship, science and technology, innovation, public health and progressive policies that create economic opportunities for all.

Program’s Goal

The Foretia Scholars Program is a merit-based educational program at the Denis and Lenora Foretia Foundation. It provides a fully funded scholarship for students to pursue undergraduate degrees at partner institutions with an emphasis on Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM The scholarship targets young, academically gifted as well as talented individuals with high level of leadership, innovative and research skills and who hail from economically underprivileged backgrounds. The program focuses on students from Central African Economic and Monetary Community (CEMAC) zone and gives them the opportunity to pursue their academic dreams or expand their talents. . With this program, students are given the opportunity to achieve their dreams, fully partake in the fields that give them fulfillment, and hence greater achievement. If selected to receive the honor of being named a “Foretia Scholar” recipients will pledge to maintain stellar academic performance for the duration of their studies. Scholars are also expected to continue to be leaders in their communities, to give back as well as pursue various humanitarian endeavors.
